Maruti Suzuki, the largest car manufacturer in India captures more than 50% of the market share. The company is known for its affordable, reliable, and fuel-efficient cars that cater to the needs of the masses.

However, Maruti Suzuki doesn't want to rest on the laurels and it has planned to launch several new models over the next few years with the focus towards electric vehicles (EVs). Here is a list of seven upcoming Maruti Suzuki cars about which you should know:

Maruti Suzuki eVX

1. Maruti Suzuki eVX

The eVX will become the first all-electric SUV from Maruti Suzuki with design elements borrowed from the eVX concept which was showcased during the Auto Expo 2023. The upcoming all-new electric SUV is likely to offer a range of around 500 km with one single charge and is most likely to come up with a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) system.

The eVX cabin will also be roomy and fitted with a massive touchscreen infotainment system equipped with state-of-the-art safety features. The eVX debuts later this year and also exported to Japan and Europe. The eVX will face competition from other electric SUVs like Hyundai Kona EV, MG ZS EV, and Tata Nexon EV.

2. Maruti Suzuki Compact Electric Hatchback

Another EV by Maruti Suzuki is the eWX, work upon which is being taken up based on the concept displayed at the Japan Mobility Show 2023. The eWX will be a compact and stylish hatchback that will be built on the dedicated skateboard EV platform on which it will derive its battery drive from, which will give it a low center of gravity, a flat floor and ample room inside for passengers.

The eWX, on the other hand, will arrive priced above INR 10 lakh and will offer a range of close to 300 km with fast-charging capability. The eWX is expected to get on road after 2026-27 and in particular, it will develop as the rival of the Tata Tiago EV, Citroen eC3, and MG Comet EV.


Maruti Suzuki Y43 Micro SUV

3. Maruti Suzuki Y43 Micro SUV

Maruti Suzuki is planning on launching a micro-SUV named Y43 to compete with the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter. The Y43 will be powered by 1.2-litre Z series petrol engine incorporating mild hybrid technology and the vehicle itself would be based on the Heartect platform as well.

Further, the automaker will help to generate a good amount of ground clearance with the rugged looks of the Y43 being more spacious on the inside for occupants. So, this would see the entry of the Y43 in the market within 2026 and it would also be priced under the Brezza and Fronx.


Maruti Suzuki Y17 Grand Vitara

4. Maruti Suzuki Y17 Grand Vitara

The seven-seater iteration of the Grand Vitara is expected to be launched by Maruti Suzuki next year. The wheelbase of the Y17 will be similar to the current model but some minimal cosmetic changes both inside and outside.

The third version of Yaris is also expected to be fitted with a petrol engine that has 1.5 liters strong hybrid which will give better performance and fuel efficiency. The Y17 will compete with the Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Alcazar, and Tata Safari.

5. Maruti Suzuki YDB Compact MPV

The Maruti Suzuki YDB compact MPV will be a seven-seater MPV that is set for an introduction by 2025. It means the YDB MPV will be based on the Spacia MPV platform now sold in Japan, but will be longer, and more practical.

The YDB will get the 1.2-litre Z series engine that debuts in the new-gen Swift. The YDB will get sliding doors and a flexible arrangement of seats apart from a big amount of boot space. The YDB will rival with the Renault Triber, Datsun Go+, and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.


New-Gen Maruti Suzuki Swift and Dzire

6. New-Gen Maruti Suzuki Swift and Dzire

The new-gen Swift and Dzire will be the next-generation models for the popular hatchback and sedan from Maruti Suzuki. The new-gen Swift and Dzire will bring evolutionary design changes and will feature a new 1.2-litre Z series mild-hybrid petrol engine that replaces the extant K series unit.

Besides this, the new-gen Swift and Dzire will also see features, safety as well as comfort improvements. Maruti Suzuki has new-gen Swift and Dzire already in its pipeline for a launch in H1 2024 and thus, expects the former to take on the mantle from its predecessor as the segment dominator.

By the year 2025, Maruti Suzuki will bring the Hustler. The Hustler is a mini SUV that will sport with high ground clearance, roomy interiors, and funky interiors. The Hustler will offer a boxy design and a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine. The Hustler will target the urban and young age brackets of compact and stylish SUV car customers. The competitors of The Hustler include Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, and Kia Sonet.
